How Can I Write Without Giving Away the Farm?

Q: How can I give out relevant content in my articles without giving away the farm?
Col

A
.  Great question, Col, and one that I get asked frequently.  You’ve only got so much space in an article — typically between 600-800 words. If you think about it, that’s not a great deal of space to tell everything you know about a subject, so then the space limitation becomes a natural barrier to how much you disclose.  Secondly, the more specific you can be in an article, as in helping with one particular aspect of a problem, the more helpful you’ll be to your target market.  Generally, audiences prefer information that is more narrow and deep (focus on one aspect) rather than broad and shallow (hitting the high points across the board).  And, remember that 95% of your target market will still eventually require your help in some fashion, as they’ll be unable to resolve their problem or get where they want to be on their own.

So, don’t worry about giving away the farm.  Create articles with quality, relevant content, and soon you’ll be their expert in your field!

Thanks for asking!
