Note from Donna: Investing in My Professional Development
For the last several years, I cut back on my traveling, as I had tired of the hassle and waiting time at airports. I haven’t flown since 2004, believe it or not, and don’t miss it. I just haven’t come across anything compelling enough to get me to attempt to meet the ever-changing airport regulations regarding what is and isn’t permissible to pack. And, since my move back to SE Texas, the Houston airport is a 2 hour drive, assuming that I’m not held up in an accident on Interstate 10. I do miss that 15-minute commute to the airport in Little Rock when I lived there..:)
My no-flight rule hasn’t changed, although I have decided to attend a couple of conferences at which I’m not speaking. Barbara Winter, one of my favorite authors, is returning to Texas in April, and I’d love to see her again. And, David Neagle, whom I’ve read glowing testimonials about from people I respect, is headed to Houston in May for a one-day workshop.
I think I’m long overdue for some professional development!
