Evaluating Products and Services

Q:  How can I know a service is good?  I want to use TotalMarketer.com and feel as though there is pressure to use 1 shopping cart.

Suzanne

A:  Hi Suzanne–

The best way to evaluate a service or a product is to look at testimonials.  Are they from people you know or at least are familiar with?  Are they running businesses similar to yours, or have a life issue similar to yours?  I’ve never heard of the TotalMarketer.com system before you mentioning it in this question. It looks comparable to the shopping cart features found at 1ShoppingCart.com, but there are no testimonials there, so it’s tough for me to evaluate it.

Since they don’t have any testimonials, you might contact their tech support to ask for a client list who is currently using the system.  Lastly, you could just try and test it and see if you like it, since it’s not a large investment of money (not sure about time, as I didn’t look at the demo, so check that out before you make that decision).  If all of your peers are using a particular product or service, there’s probably a good reason for that (i.e. it works and works well).
