Delivr

DelivrI’ve been seeing what I’ve referred to as “mystery graphics” in various magazines and on various products, but never knew what they were called. Now that I’m taking a mobile marketing course, I’ve discovered that they’re referred to as 2-D bar codes, or QR codes. When you scan them with your smart phone, you are directed to a particular URL. I thought it must be expensive for businesses to have these created, but I’ve discovered a great source where you can create them free of charge.

DelivrDelivr lets you create, store, and share QR codes for your business at no charge. Once you determine a landing page where you want to send visitors, Delivr creates the bar code for you, as well as a mobile-friendly Delivr URL that you can share with friends and fans across several popular social networking services through the Delivr service, if you like.

And, if you want to use the image in print or on your site, Delivr lets you create a PNG or Postscript file of your code, as well as print a flyer with your code embedded in it. When you create an account, you’ll receive extras like a personalized Delivr address, editing, API, QR Code tracking, and analytics for your code.

If you need a QR code reader for your smartphone, visit this page and select your phone and you’ll be given options from there. I chose BeeTag for my iPhone 3GS.

Create your QR code here.
