Getting clients to sign contracts or agreements can be a time-consuming process. Many times they don’t have ready access to a scanner and a fax machine and have to mail the contract back to me via snail mail. I began looking for an inexpensive solution that would enable them to easily sign the document electronically and return by email.
SignNow offers the ability to sign documents electronically either from your computer or from a mobile device. Signers aren’t required to open an account to use the service. Signers simply click next to the place for the signature, and select either “Draw Signature” or “Type Signature.” Signatures can be saved for later use if you create an account.
As the document originator, you can upload a document and select “Invite a Signer” and enter the email of the person whose signature you need. You can also add a cc to your email or add notes. SignNow recommends using a PDF file for best results. Once your client has signed the document, she clicks on “Complete” and sends the signed document back to you.
Signing with SignNow is legal and secure on any device in the US, EU, China, India, Canada and most developed countries. Using SignNow is better than faxing, emailing, or mailing “wet ink” signatures.
Basic service is free, or you can upgrade to Pro for $14.99/month as of this writing, which includes access to templates and document history, as well as one free notarization per month. They also offer notarization services for a fee, which are legal in all 50 states of the U.S.
