Tool of the Week: My Live Signature
Using your “real” signature as an image is never a good idea in an online environment. It becomes too easy for an unscrupulous person to simply copy and paste that into any document and potentially make you liable for things without your knowledge.
Instead, create an attractive font signature with My Live Signature. You can choose to set up a free account where you can store your signature images, or just create an image on the fly. You have the option of an animated (for a fee) or a static (free) signature.
To create your signature, you can use the signature creation wizard, where you enter the name of the signature and then elect the handwriting that suits you from the offered list. You can specify the size, color, and slope of the signature as well. Or, you can hand-draw your own personal signature using your mouse or pen to hand-make your own personal signature straight on your screen.
The third option for creating a signature is to use a scanned image (I don’t recommend this option). You will have to write your signature on a sheet of paper and send it to MyLiveSignature.com where their designers will process the image in a short period of time and use it to create a signature for you.
