The Alphabetizer

Sometimes you need to quickly alphabetize a list of words. You can copy and paste them into Excel, but there should be a quicker way to accomplish this task than by using another software program.

Then I discovered The Alphabetizer. This free and handy online service does much more than alphabetize text. It can also:

• Strip HTML (strips all HTML tags from every entry AFTER sorting the list. It will also remove PHP tags from your list.)
• Ignore case (ignores the case of each entry while alphabetizing your list)
• Make lowercase (makes each entry lowercase and then alphabetizes accordingly)
• Capitalize first word (capitalizes the first word in each one of your entries and then alphabetizes)
• Remove duplicates (removes duplicate entries and then alphabetizes the list)
• Reverse list (sorts the list alphabetically then turns it on its head)
• Randomizer (puts your list in random order)
• Ignore definite and indefinite articles (will ignore a, an, the, some, and any in your list)
