Would You Rather Speak and Travel or Speak from Home?
I just returned from speaking at the eWomenPublishing
Network Conference in Dallas. I had a
great time, but traveling wears me out these
days — I just don’t bounce back like I used to.
I got to connect with old friends, made some new
ones, and met some old friends face-to-face for
the first time.
When I went out to dinner
with a group on Friday night, I told one woman
that I hadn’t flown in 2 years because I created
a rule last year that I only go to conferences
when I’m invited to speak. She was amazed,
as this was her 4th conference since mid-May and
she had not set foot in her home since that
time.
I just can’t imagine
traveling that much any more. The thrill
of business travel is gone for me — I’d much rather
connect with people from the comfort of my own
home than to expend the time and energy that
travel takes.
Toward that end, when I
gear up the teleclasses component of
OnlineBizU.com later this summer, I’ll
probably be offering content either via webinar
or via an online conference room.
