Vacationing in Wine Country
Happy Halloween to all of you! I'm not much
of a Halloween gal, but Eric's fav holiday is Halloween. We've got a few
decorations up, but Hurricane Ike sort of threw a damper on Halloween decorating
this year. Instead we're headed off the the
Texas wine country (betcha
though we were going to Napa Valley or Sonoma Valley in California, didn't you?)
out in Central Texas for a long weekend tomorrow.
The area around Fredericksburg, where we're
headed, now has over 20 wineries. Who would have ever guessed that Central
Texas might become renown for its wineries? Not me, that's for sure.
We're going on a half-day tour with a wine tour company (so we can drink and not
worry about driving!), checking out a vintage rock 'n roll show of some sort,
and going on a German food safari to find the best Wienerschnitzel (the veal
dish, not the hot dog eatery <g>).
