Taking Some Well Needed Time Off
I’m taking a long weekend this weekend, primarily because it’s something I always do for my birthday (it’s number 43 for me!), and secondarily, because I haven’t taken any time off in over a year that didn’t relate to moving in or out of someplace..LOL.
My May 27th birthday almost always fall on Memorial Day weekend. In elementary school, that meant I could never have a class party because we were usually out of school just just prior to my birthday. As an adult, it’s challenging to get anyone to come to a birthday celebration because Memorial Day weekend here in the US is a big travel weekend, where families are usually taking trips to kick-off the beginning of summer. So, over the years, I’ve learned to take myself out and do things over this weekend that I don’t normally have time (or take time to do). First on my list is to visit the Art Museum of Southeast Texas and have lunch in their wonderful cafe.
