Moving My Ezine List

After much deliberation, I’ve decided to move this list to another email service. I haven’t been happy with the delivery rate of Ezine Director and have often been frustrated each Wednesday as I have to try numerous times on occasion to access the service to upload and schedule the newsletter for delivery.

The new service I’ll be using will be aWeber, which is actually a sequential autoresponder service. I’ve heard from several other online business owners who are impressed with their delivery rate as compared to other services.  And, I like the greater flexibility of email personalization options over the Ezine Director service.

Switching services also provides a great opportunity to purge your list.  Why would I want to do that?  I’d rather have a smaller list of devoted subscribers who’d really like to hear from me than a larger list of lukewarm readers who aren’t terribly responsive.

So, what does this mean for my subscribers?  My goal is to have the list switched over by mid-December.  In the next week or so, if you’re a subscriber, you’ll receive an email requesting you to opt-in to the new service..  And, for awhile, you may get several notices to opt into the new service and/or several copies of the ezine. I apologize in advance for the multiple mailings, but it’s unfortunately inherent in this type of changeover.

What’s exciting for me is that this is the first step to a brand-new offering for my business. There’s still much work to be done, but I hope to be able to unveil the first portion of this new offering by March 2007.

I’ve also been contemplating returning to the plain-text email format, even though it feels like a step backwards.  The jury is still out on this decision..:)
