I wonder if the Hormel company simply has more money than sense. I use a product called Spam Arrest to help me manage that massive amounts of spam that I receive daily.
I just read that Spam Arrest was featured on ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson on March 5 to discuss the ongoing trademark dispute between Hormel and Spam Arrest over the use of the word "spam" in the Spam Arrest name. You’ve got to be kidding me, right??
Apparently not. Spam Arrest has been defending itself against Hormel for the last 4 years while Hormel has been attempting to cancel the Spam Arrest trademark granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Spam Arrest believes that Hormel is overstepping its trademark rights by attempting to claim ownership of the generic word "spam" in reference to junk email.
Hmmm, I wonder if that means we can all sue Hormel for our spam email???
