Care and Concern from Afar
I wanted to offer a belated thanks to all of you who sent notes and well wishes my way earlier this month after I wrote about my brush with breast cancer. It turns out my medical journey was not quite over. Because my infection wasn't responding to antibiotics, I had to visit a surgeon and have it drained and have a biopsy done for a second cancer check. Good news is that this procedure worked and I'm healing, and no cancer was found.
Fifteen years ago I would have never believed that I would have friends and colleagues (whom I've never met face-to-face) spread far and wide across the country and around the world who would overwhelmingly respond with care and concern about my well-being. For that, I am thankful and grateful. Who would have ever dreamed that a mere computer connection called the Internet would make this possible? That is a miracle, indeed.
