Tracking Phone Calls From Your Website

I just got a great idea from Rich Brooks’ Flyte blog about another way to track how people find you and contact you.  If you have a good statics program on your website, like Google Analytics, you can get more info than you probably ever wanted to know about who is visiting your site.  And, if your email broadcast program has statistics tracking like mine does as aWeber.com, you can get a comprehensive picture of how people are subscribing to you ezine and your autorresponders.

The new idea is a way to devise how to track calls from your website.  It involves getting another telephone number, which you can do free of charge at GrandCentral.com. GrandCentral.com was recently acquired by Google.  The service is designed as innovative web-based voice communications platform that helps you
manage all your phones and phone numbers through one simple interface.
You get a single phone number that forwards to all of your phones,
giving you one number for life.

I’m placing my GrandCentral.com number on my websites as my contact number so I’ll know exactly how many times website visitors are picking up the phone to call me from visiting my website.  The service provides both a call log and a message log via your online account interface to help you track this info.

It will be interesting to see my results in the next month from this service.
