Staying Focused on One Project

Q:  I have a problem.  How do you stay focused on one project?  Also do you have an opinion on the software called "adwordselite" ?

Donna

A:
Hi Donna– I’ve got my week divided into different segments, which helps my focus tremendously.  On my calendar I have my "free days" blocked off.  These are days where I do no work at all.  Then, I have my "profit generating days", which are days in which I work exclusively with clients.  Lastly I have one day a week which is my "business development day", where I write, create new products, have conversations about joint ventures, etc. Making the decision to divide my weeks like that has been a great lifesaver.  The only way to make it work is to let everyone know your schedule and make sure that you adhere to these boundaries you’ve set.  You can read more about that process here, The Solo Entrepreneur’s Success Secret: Planning Time for Business Development.

I creat this schedule each year in my annual business retreat, which you can read more about here,

Top 10 Steps to Creating a Successful Business Retreat for Self-Employed Entrepreneurs
.

And, to map out all of my projects, timelines, and deadlines and to keep myself sane <g>, I use Central Desktop.  You can read my review and evaluation of that service here.  In addition to helping me everything, it’s a great way to stay in touch with members of your team.

Lastly, I’m not familiar with the product, adwordselite.  When I went to the website, I got the following message, "This site is no longer in service or has been disabled due to a terms of service violation."  The best resource I know of to help with Google Adwords is Perry Marshall’s "Definitive Guide to Google Adwords", found here
