I'm back in the office now after being out for the last two weeks. I was overwhelmed with the sheer number of touching emails and cards that I received about my mother's passing. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You don't know how much your support and well wishes meant to me at this time. Isn't it amazing how the Internet helps us connect with others whom we've never met?
Eric and I had a beautiful sunrise wedding last Friday (yes, I said sunrise <g> at 6:45 AM or so) on the beach in Galveston, TX. The gods smiled upon us and gave us glorious weather (tropical storm Edouard had come and gone by then) and we then kicked around Galveston for a few days. Pics will be coming in the next month or so.
TXWe discovered a hidden gem in Santa Fe (about 20 miles outside of Galveston), a Texas winery, Haak Vineyards. We ended up buying 6 bottles of wine there, and Eric made a wonderful sangria last night from their Purple Porpoise wine using a recipe from Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade show of FoodNetwork.com. Their white port is also amazing, especially with chocolate.
Now I think I'm ready for life to return to normal for awhile..:)
