Hurricane Season Has Arrived
Actually, the beginning of hurricane season was June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. However, for those of us here in SE Texas, we tend to get storms in August, Sept. and early Oct. We've had rain for the last 2 days from one of the storms currently named — perhaps Claudette? — and so I know that the season is officially upon us. This also probably means the end to our drought this year..LOL
Since returning to Texas in 2005, I've measured my life by hurricanes — i.e. "That was before Rita" or "No, we did that just after Ike" or "Weren't you working during Humberto?" Unfortunately, these are names I never wanted to know but now are ones that are permanently ingrained in my memory.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a quiet hurricane year for us all..:)
