A: Hi Bernard! It really depends on what your core business is.
1. If you're an affiliate marketer, you can monetize the blog by promoting one affiliate product, or a number of affiliate products on the same theme (i.e. dog training). In this case, your monetization comes any affiliate commissions you are paid via the promotions yblogs, blogging, monetize my blogou do in your blog.
2. If you own a business and your blog is one of your marketing tools, you can:
a. Add Google Adsense to the sidebars of your blog to make money
b. Seek blog advertisers/sponsors when your blog traffic grows to the point where advertisers would be interested in purchasing space from you.
c. Put your products in the sidebar to encourage readers to click for more info and to purchase.
d. Request donations to your blog

In terms of content, it should relate to your primary subject of your blog. It should provide valuable info to your reader, whether you create it or whether you publish the article from an article directory.
