Happy 2007, one and all! I took the week off between Christmas and New Year’s for a little R & R. Santa was quite good to me this year, leaving both an iPod and an engagement ring in my stocking..:)
Eric and I headed to Austin to ring in the New Year at Austin’s First Night celebration. I love First Night celebrations after going to many of them in Boston and Northampton, MA, when I lived in MA. The celebration offers a variety of cultural events from sculpters to dancers to musical acts. One of the most amusing events we caught was the "Haiku Deathmatch." Eric loves to write haikus to me, so of course, we had to hang around to see what the other haiku masters had to say.
We also got the chance to try out lots of new restaurants. You can see the reviews that we’ll post in the next week at my other blog, Texas Foodie. We also had to visit the new Whole Foods store, which was simply amazing, to fulfill Eric’s quest for chocolate croissants. The quest was successful, and he snagged 7 croissants to take back home with us.
Unfortunately, my New Year’s celebration was brought to a grinding halt when I returned home late on New Year’s Day to discover that my computer had died. It’s 8 years old now, although it has only a few parts left from the original Gateway configuration. I think the power supply was one of those, and that’s what made it die. A friend helped me bring it back to life with a new power supply, but I know a new machine is definitely on my list of things to buy in 2007.
Eric and I didn’t really make any New Year’s resolutions, as we never keep them, anyhow…LOL But, I’ve got great intentions for my biz for this year, and I can’t wait to get started!
