A Heartfelt Thanksgiving
This year, due to my brush with hurricane evacuation, I’m feeling quite grateful and thankful to still be around..:). I’ve met, spoken with, and read about others who are still picking up their lives from Katrina, Rita, and Wilma, and the picture isn’t pretty.
As traumatic as I found my evacuation from Hurricane Rita, things could have been much worse. I could have lost my house or car. I could have ended up in a shelter or been shipped off to some faraway city and lost any ability to run my business. Some of my elderly family members could have died in the evacuation process. I could have lost my power, phone, and water for 2 months.
Instead, I’m back in my house and have little structural damage, am in a wonderful relationship with an amazing man (with whom I evacuated during Rita), have all basic utility services restored, and I had little intrerruption of my business.
For all of this and more, I give my thanks..:)
