It’ll All Come Out in the Wash

On several occasions in the last two years, I have been accused of being too "Pollyanna-ish" because I spout too many platitudes and positive thoughts. I find it rather amusing that others think I’m too much of a positive thinker and fault me for trying to see the best in any situation. There are certainly worse things I could be accused of, I suppose..:)

I’ll be the first to admit that my life is filled with peaks, valleys, and missiles, and some of the missiles in the last year have knocked me down pretty hard. Some days I didn’t know whether I could get up again. Each valley and each missile has provided a pretty invaluable life lesson that has helped me move forward, so I’m confident that these things have happened for a reason and a purpose, despite how much I might have wailed and moaned and complained and beat my head against the wall while in the middle of it all.

Trust in the universe, and moreover in yourself, to create your life’s journey or to design the plan for your business. It really is the journey, not the destination, that matters in the end. My mother used to say, "Well, you know, Donna Lee (all Texans have 2 first names), it’ll all come out in the wash," which was her way of saying that things will turn out fine in the end, just as they should, despite our best efforts to derail those plans.

What I know for sure now, to quote Oprah, is that the present is perfect and things are happening just like they’re supposed to. So, I’ve decided to quit struggling, accept what’s currently happening in my life and get on with the business of living. After all, it will all come out in the wash…:)
